Households across the borough can prepare for the return of fortnightly garden waste collections, with services restarting from Monday 30 March 2026.
Led by Walsall Council, the free brown bin collection service will once again support residents in managing seasonal garden waste, just as gardens begin to flourish in the spring months.
Check Before You Put Your Bin Out
Residents are being reminded that collection days may have changed since last year. It is important to check updated schedules online ahead of the first collection to avoid any missed pick-ups.
To ensure a smooth service, bins should be placed out by 6.30am on collection day.
What Can Go in Your Brown Bin?
The service is designed to help households dispose of common garden waste responsibly. Accepted items include:
- Flowers and plants
- Grass cuttings
- Hedge clippings
- Tree cuttings
- Leaves
Using the brown bin correctly helps crews maintain an efficient and reliable collection service throughout the busier spring and summer seasons.
Councillor Suky Samra, Portfolio Holder for Street Scene, said:
“Garden waste collections are an important service for many residents, particularly as gardens begin to grow again in the spring months.
“We want to make sure everyone is ready for the start of the service, so I would encourage residents to take a moment to check their collection day online, as it may be different from last year.
“By making sure the correct waste is in brown bins and placing them out on time, residents can help our crews keep collections running smoothly across the borough.”
