Get ready for a day of creativity, performance, and hands-on fun, as Walsall MakerFest 2025 is set to transform the town centre into a free festival of making, movement, and imagination on Saturday, 13 September 2025.
What to Expect

Town Hall Takeover (11 am–5 pm): Urban Hax CIC will host a full day of interactive experiences—meet iconic TV characters Sir Killalot and Matilda from Robot Wars, try your hand at building a robot, craft unique jewellery, or explore film special-effects makeup.

Live Music at Gallery Square (12 pm–3:30 pm): Local talent takes centre stage with performances ranging from Northern Soul by the 2Ds, a fiery set from BBC’s All Together Now judge Dayton Grey, and a powerhouse performance by Sass Brown—bringing echoes of Tina Turner—to the upbeat rhythms of Bhangra Smash Up.

Mad Hatter’s Tea Party (12 pm–2 pm): Step into the charming Walsall Memorial Garden (a rare opening next to St Matthew’s Church). Meet the Mad Hatter, create your own hat, and join a magical, Alice in Wonderland–themed tea party.

Walsall Society of Artists at The Crossing (11 am–5 pm): Celebrating 75 years of artistic inspiration, the Society will fill St Paul’s Crossing with vibrant exhibitions, live demonstrations, and creative work available for sale.

Minecraft & Digital Creativity: At the Digital Skills Hub on George Street, the eGaming Zone invites Minecraft enthusiasts to explore storytelling, coding, and digital design through playful challenges—across three time slots (11 am–12:30 pm, 1 pm–2:30 pm, 3 pm–4:30 pm)—with advanced booking required.

Explore More: From a vibrant Makers’ Market on Park Street offering over 50 stalls of artisan goods and global street food, to a five-hour dance programme outside The Crossing, and the Story Village with poetry workshops and drop-in crafts.
This is the second year of MakerFest, a festival designed to celebrate Walsall’s rich “Town of 100 Trades” heritage and showcase its creative spirit under the “We Are Walsall 2040” vision.
The event is delivered by Walsall Council, in collaboration with Urban Hax CIC, The New Art Gallery Walsall, and Walsall Cultural Compact, and supported through the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport’s Cultural Development Fund under Arts Council England’s Round Three.
