Residents across Walsall are being encouraged to roll up their sleeves and take part in this year’s Great British Spring Clean, with community groups, schools and volunteers already stepping forward to help tidy neighbourhoods across the borough.
Running throughout March, the national campaign brings together thousands of volunteers to tackle litter and improve local environments after the winter months. In Walsall, the initiative is being supported by the council, which is providing equipment, guidance and help in organising local clean-up events.
Community groups, schools and residents are being invited to either join organised sessions or arrange their own clean-ups in areas that matter most to them. From parks and green spaces to residential streets and alleyways, the aim is to create cleaner, safer places for everyone.
Council teams say the campaign is about more than just litter picking. It also plays an important role in raising awareness about environmental responsibility and encouraging long-term behaviour change.
