Residents, businesses and community groups are being invited to help shape plans for new sports facilities at King George V (KGV) Playing Fields in Bloxwich.
Walsall Council has launched a public survey as part of wider redevelopment proposals for the site, which include a new 3G artificial grass football pitch.
The planned pitch will be designed to accommodate 11, 9 and 7-a-side matches, and will feature floodlighting, secure fencing and on-site storage. It is expected to become a key facility for local teams and community use.
The council is now asking for feedback on how the pitch should operate once complete. This includes views on access, opening hours and the types of activities that should be offered.
Councillor Adrian Andrew, Deputy Leader of Walsall Council, said:
“ It’s great news for Bloxwich that we will be installing a new 3G football pitch in King George V Playing Fields. We want to hear views from everyone so I’d urge as many local people as possible to have their say on how the new pitch will operate and help shape plans that work for our communities. “
People are encouraged to take part whether they regularly use the park, live or work nearby, or simply have an interest in local facilities.
The survey is available online, with paper copies also provided at a number of locations across Bloxwich, including local community centres, the library and leisure facilities.
Responses must be submitted by Monday 27 April 2026.
The new pitch forms part of a wider transformation of King George V Playing Fields, which will see significant investment in the months ahead. Plans include a new pavilion, upgraded changing facilities, improved parking, landscaping works and potential space for a café and community events.
Construction work began in March and is being delivered as part of the £25 million government-funded Bloxwich Town Deal, aimed at improving local infrastructure and community spaces.
