Walsall Council is inviting residents across the borough to help shape the future of local climate action. A new climate engagement campaign has just launched, aiming to gather ideas, views, and concerns from the community to inform the council’s updated climate strategy.
Following the publication of its first Climate Change Action Plan in 2020, Walsall Council is now working on a refreshed version that will outline priorities for tackling climate change over the next five years. Residents are being encouraged to get involved by sharing their thoughts on what matters most to them when it comes to climate and environmental issues in their neighbourhoods.
Councillor Garry Perry, Deputy Leader and Portfolio Holder for Resilient Communities, said:
“We know there is real energy and passion among our communities when it comes to protecting the environment. That’s why we’re inviting people to be part of this conversation and help shape what Walsall’s climate response should look like in the years ahead.
We want to understand what’s most important to our residents—whether it’s reducing pollution, improving air quality, encouraging green spaces, or making homes more energy efficient. Every voice matters.”
The council is keen to hear from individuals, community groups, local businesses, and schools. Whether you’re already involved in sustainability projects or just want to share your ideas, your input will help guide local decisions and ensure the strategy reflects the needs and aspirations of Walsall’s diverse communities.
